DCDSB 2025 Lenten Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we enter the sacred season of Lent, we are reminded of the profound opportunity that this time offers us. Lent is a period where we are called to deepen our faith, strengthen our relationship with God, and prepare our hearts for the joyous celebration of Easter.
Pope Francis has announced that 2025 is a Jubilee Year, which is a spiritual tradition celebrated in the Church every 25 years. Inspired by this significant moment, the DCDSB community is guided by the spiritual theme of Living in Hope during the 2024-2025 school year. Hope is the virtue that leads us to desire the kingdom of heaven and eternal life as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ’s promises and relying not on our own strength, but on the help and the grace of the Holy Spirit. Pope Francis shared that, “hope does not deceive or disappoint because it is grounded in the certainty that nothing and no one may ever separate us from God’s love.” This relationship of faith and trust in God sustains us and calls us into a loving relationship with one another. We encourage all families to embrace this theme by engaging in acts of kindness, prayer, and service. Let us walk together, supporting one another in our spiritual growth and in our commitment to living out the Gospel values.
We are grateful for the dedication and support of our parents/guardians, staff, and parish partners. Together, we can create a caring learning environment where our students can grow in faith, knowledge, and love. With hearts full of hope this Lenten season, let us continue to create meaningful connections with one another.
Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed Lent.
Yours in hope and faith,
Monique Forster Gerard Winn
