DCPIC is Accepting Nominations for Parent and Community Representatives

The Durham Catholic Parent Involvement Committee (DCPIC) is seeking nominations for Parent Representatives and three (3) Community Representatives on the committee beginning October 2019.  We are looking for strong supporters of Catholic Education who have:

  • Experience working with a local Catholic School Council;
  • An understanding of the importance of parent, family and community engagement gained through a professional or volunteer experience;
  • A commitment to keeping up with educational initiatives;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Committed to engaging parents in supporting their children’s learning;
  • Ability to work as a team player, resolve conflict and generate ideas.

 
If you are interested in volunteering and providing parent engagement at the Board level, you are encouraged to complete the following:

Parent Representatives

Applicants for the Parent Representative position are required to complete the online nomination form available at https://www.dcpic.ca/en/our-committee/current-opportunities.aspx

 

Community Representatives

Applicants for the Community Representative position are required to provide:

  • A letter indicating their interest in the position of Community representative which includes:
    • your reasons for applying;
    • your interest in the Durham Catholic District School Board and Catholic
      Education;
  • A resume outlining relevant experience;
  • Proof of being an English Language Roman Catholic School Board Supporter on the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) form; 
  • A pastoral reference letter;
  • A current Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector (within six (6) months).

Closing Date for Nominations

All nominations are due by Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
